Verizon commemorates Veterans Day with new military offer and activities to honor veterans and their families

NEW YORK, Oct. 30, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Verizon is commemorating this Veterans Day with a number of special activities and a new offer to help military families stay connected to the ones they love at a great value.

For a limited time, Active-duty military, reservists, Gold Star families and veterans can get a $200 Mastercard® prepaid card when activating a new 4G LTE smartphone on a new line of service.

Verizon makes it easy for military families to stay connected with discounts on our industry-leading unlimited plans. With Go Unlimited plan, you can get four lines for $30 per month per line* (plus taxes and fees when you enroll in Auto Pay) – a savings of $40 per month. And now that you can mix and match unlimited plans for the whole family, military families can save even more on all Verizon Unlimited plans: get $15 off one line, $35 off two lines and $40 off three or more lines. To get the military discount, simply login to your account and choose the unlimited plans you need.

To further commemorate Veterans Day, Verizon is partnering with its employee resource group, Verizon Veterans Advisory Board (VAB), to host the Blue Star Mothers of America float at this year’s 2018 New York City Veterans Day parade, America’s largest Veterans Day celebration.  This will be the 6th consecutive year Verizon has participated in the NYC Veterans Day Parade to honor and say thank you to the brave veterans that have fought for our freedom.

Verizon will also be hosting a live BUILD Studio conversation on Nov. 1 to discuss how veterans are transforming the workplace. In this BUILD Studio conversation, veterans in senior leadership positions in government, nonprofits, and corporations will discuss how they see the nature of the workforce changing, and how they have adapted their own military service to their next career. The panel will offer lessons learned as both employees and managers for veterans and military service members to prepare for jobs that don’t even exist yet.

Verizon has been a longtime leader in support of military members and their families. Verizon was recently named 2018’s #1 Military Friendly Company, which identified companies whose commitment to serving the military and veteran community is comprehensive and meaningful in impact.

Verizon currently employs more than 11,000 veterans and offers several programs for military hires, including new-hire training programs, special networking opportunities and the company’s Veterans Advisory Board Employee Resource Group.
